Activity Brief
The Khazan lands at Salvador do Mundo are an excellent site to spot wildlife, particularly birds that flock to the fields, ponds and dense mangroves. Early morning is the ideal time to watch the local family of otters feed and play. At sunset, an exodus of flying foxes can be seen overhead.
The proximity of the khazans to busy roads, human settlements and facilities offers a unique insight into the role of the khazans in safeguarding local wildlife in a rapidly urbanising space.
Things to note:
-We will walk on a path/trail that runs around the khazan. Due to the monsoon, it will be a slippery walk.
-The walk will begin at 07:00 AM and will end at 09:00 AM.
-During the walk, all participants should wear protective and non-slip footwear, rain gear, and hats/caps and carry sufficient water with them.
